Puppies, like children, have a mind like a sponge. They spend the first six months
soaking up information and then applying it to their environment. They are learning
with or without your help. The difference between a puppy who has had training and
one who has not is easy to see. An example would be a puppy that has had to learn
on its own quickly discovers jumping on people is a sure way of becoming the center
of attention. A puppy that has had kindergarten learns that sitting quietly is the
most effective way to get love and praise from owners and guests. Puppy Kindergarten
is a seven-week course focusing on basic commands, as well as common puppy problems.
Things such as coming when called, walking nicely on leash and staying when told
are all covered. Jumping up, chewing, mouthing, housebreaking and individual problems
will be addressed with all students. Don’t let this critical time slip away - shape
your puppy’s behavior now while they are young and quicker to learn new concepts.
