You may have met various people over time that had well behaved dogs and thought to yourself, "I wish my dog behaved that way ". Good news - it is possible!
At Better Behavior Dog Training, we understand that there is no single way to train a dog. We pride ourselves on our ability to evaluate your dogs' personality and temperament and provide a training program that is right for you. Here are some basic standards you can count on when working with us.

The relationship between you and your dog is always the first priority when working on a training program. This is the first thing that must be organized and perhaps mended before beginning. We work hard to make sure that both you and your dog have a better understanding of each other.

Patience , Practice , Persistence and Praise are known as the four P's and are strongly implemented into every training program. All four of these elements are essential to getting results from your dog.

We understand that you may be training your first dog. Therefore, all questions and comments are welcome. We will always treat you and your dog with utmost respect. We also request the same from you toward your dog as we work together. This, in conjunction with your training program will teach your dog how to respect you.

We use positive methods and reward based training to get results! Training should be fun for everyone involved, including the dog. All exercises are started very simple, making it impossible for your dog to fail. From there we gradually build on the exercise, increasing the level of difficulty each session. We strive to set the dog up for success, so that you can spend more time praising and less time correcting any given behavior. Training in this manner results in a happy confident dog.

Ask you to yell or hit your dog, hang them up by their collar or "alpha roll" them. These are all corrections that are foreign to dogs and will cause them to lose respect and fear you.
